According to farmers of Goa, they along with the entrepreneurs can exploit the growing in demand of virgin coconut oil. Coconut farmers with huge quantities of nuts and entrepreneurs eager to tap the easily available raw materials can exploit the growing demands for the virgin coconut oil with multiple health benefits.
The 2 days training programme focusing on virgin coconut oil at old Goa received good responses as two participants attended it. It was organized by Goa Chambers of Commerce and Industry's women's wing in association with Indian Council of Agricultural research.
VCO has many health benefits, as it is compared with the resemblance of mother's milk. It is also being considered a good anti-oxidant and good for brain diseases. Hence, the demand for it has been growing steadily globally.
The participants were provided details about the extraction of virgin oil , which can be done either at household level or as commercial venture.
